There are two facilities where Macedonian can be studied in Newcastle.
Primary School Level:
Classes are offered for Primary School students at the Macedonian Community Hall.
*
High School Level:
High School students may study Macedonian at Merewether High School, which hosts the Saturday School of Community Languages. The courses taught there follow the standard NSW curriculum for Macedonian Studies, from year 7 to HSC level.
If you would like your children to learn to speak, read and write in Macedonian, enroll them for lessons at the Saturday School of Community Languages, Merewether High School. At the lessons, the students will be given the opportunity to learn about the Macedonian language, together with the literature, culture, history and geography. The study of Macedonian at the Saturday School of Community Languages is recognized as part of the students’ School Certificate and Higher School Certificate.
The lessons are held at Merewether High School from 9:00am to 11:00am for high school students in years 7-10 and 8:00am to 11:00am for year 11 and 12 students.
